"My wife and I bought two of the ColdAvenger® masks a couple of years ago for skiing and they work great. They keep your face warm and let you breath at the same time without getting wet inside. We love them!" - Kris & Mike H. from Florida 2/2/11
"Hello! About three years ago I bought my first ColdAvenger® mask from you guys at the Denver Ski Show. I'd like to think I'm your biggest fan. So much so I'm forwarding you a link to a video I made of my wife and I skiing at Loveland Ski Area, Colorado (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8Q-zNppcT0). Temperatures were in the teens and with the windchill just around zero! But with our ColdAvenger® masks completing our cold weather gear we were able to stay out longer. In fact we skied the entire morning with no discomfort to either our lungs or faces. The breathing aspect is important to note as Colorado is so dry and even in a storm there is little humidity at altitude to speak of. Both my wife and I ski with your masks and we always get inquiries on the chair ride up. I'll be buying my third mask from you soon to upgrade my wife from the prototype I bought at the Ski Show to the ColdAvenger® Pro model." -Paul Z. from Colorado 1/12/11
"I was given a mask as a present. I have similar products and thought, OK, this will be OK but maybe like the others, just OK. I cycle in winter so it gets a lit of wind chill. Well the last two days I have used it and I love it. It is far better than others I have used. I have purchased the ColdAvenger® Expedition Balaclava and ColdAvenger® Pro mask (one for my wife) - I did it from REI, I am a member and like to support them and you still get the sale." - Les H. from Michigan 12/12/10
"My first major use of the ColdAvenger® was during my hike on Mt. Washington, 2009. On our way up, temperatures were moderate and brisk and I was unsure if it would be necessary for me to use the ColdAvenger® during this trip. However, upon clearing the upper treeline, the weather conditions had changed dramatically. The winds had picked up and the temperature was dropping quickly. As I stopped to layer up, I decided to also put on the ColdAvenger® to protect my face from the bitter cold. I was quickly surprised to notice that my chest felt much warmer with each breath. As I continued to make my way up the mountain, the conditions worsened and upon reaching the top of Lion's Head, we were facing 60+ MPH winds with a temperature of -50 degrees or less! At this point, I had to be fully-covered and was wearing my goggles, happily with no fogging! My lungs felt warmer and I was not experiencing the dry throat that I also have experienced in winter conditions when inhaling the freezing cold air. I do believe that this also affected my energy level and ability to climb with less strain, as my body was more comfortable and expending less energy attempting to warm my core than it had been when using no protection at all. Due to the conditions on the mountain that day, we were unfortunately unable to summit, but the ColdAvenger® had proven to me that it was a vital piece of equipment that I would use in all my future winter activities. During my decent of the mountain, I had many climbers ask about what I was wearing. Some even thought it was an oxygen mask. Haha! I would briefly discuss with them the experience I just had with your product and by the time I had reached camp, I must have given your website info and demonstrated your product to nearly a dozen climbers that day. My girlfriend would tease me and say that I should be a spokesperson for your company!" - Jeff B. from New Hampshire 11/09/10
"Just wanted to say thanks. I got a "tester" ColdAvenger® Pro from a friend at Pipestone Mountaineering. I recently climbed Mt. Rainier and she gave it to me to try and send feedback. It worked great, I think I had the warmest driest face on the mountain. I definitely had a lot of comments on it too from other climbers on the way up to the summit, so hopefully you be getting some more exposure from that. I told everyone about Talus and the ColdAvenger®. I'll be using it on my Denali climb in 2011 and probably a lot more between now and then." - Britton Russell, www.teamrussback.com, Montana 5/31/10
"Talus, I arrived back in Las Vegas the evening of May 12th and am still trying to adjust to being back in this world after being in the Arctic for a month competing in the Polar Challenge. It was an amazing time, even though I did not really get to race, I turned it into a great expedition and helped get all teammates across the finish line in the allotted time. The ColdAvenger® Pro was used by most of the racers including the winning team, they praised it. I'm sure it will be used in all future races. Next time I would use the ColdAvenger® Expedition Balaclava model. It truly is a great product. Thanks," - Dell W. from Las Vegas 5/17/10
"Hi Guys, You actually don’t know me but Eric Meyer here in Makalu base camp and he gave me one of your ColdAvenger® masks to try on Makalu this year. Two years ago I was climbing here on Makalu and turned around 1 hour from the summit due to significant frostbite in my nose from high winds on the summit ridge. Seven months after the frostbite occurred I finally went in for composite graft surgery on my nose. I sat the 2009 season out and now I am back in 2010 to try and finish off that last hour of the climb and summit Makalu. If I told you I was not concerned about freezing my nose again I would be lying. I have tried various different types of systems to try protect my nose, and was unhappy or unsatisfied with all of them. Eric Meyer asked me if I was happy with my face protection system and I said "kind off". Then he asked if I would be interested in trying a new ColdAvenger® Expedition Balaclava. When he gave it to me and I tried it on I felt this sense of calm wash over me, like I had finally found the solution to my problems. The ColdAvenger® Expedition Balaclava felt great. It is comfortable and snug and yet did not restrict my breathing. It works well with my goggles and sunglasses. I can’t wait to take it up on the mountain and try it. It could just be the difference between losing more of my nose to frostbite or not. I have been wearing it around base camp and find the mask does not inhibit my breathing in any kind of way. As a climber that has suffered frostbite on my nose and lost part of my nose. This gives me a little piece of mind that I am doing all I can to make sure it does not happen again. It is very nice to have one less thing to worry about. All we need now is for a little help from the weather and hopefully we can climb this thing! Stay in touch and look forward to chatting with you soon.thanks again and keep up the good work." - Blair Falahey, International Mountaineer, www.blair8000.com, 5/4/2010
"I just received my ColdAvenger® Expedition Balaclava and it's a perfect fit. Not too tight and not too loose. Can't wait to try it out in field conditions. Looks even cooler (pardon the pun) that I expected it would. A fantastic product!"
"In addition to great products, your customer service has been really amazing! That seems to be a very hard characteristic to find these days so I will certainly continue to pass on your name. Regards," - Joseph P. from New York 1/26/10
"Just wanted to let you know that we made the summit of Vinson Massif on Jan 6th 2010. All team members were able to summit in great weather! The ColdAvenger® did it's job "spot on"!" - Jack S. from Alaska 1/18/2010
"I received your ColdAvenger® Expedition Balaclava on Saturday and have already had a chance to try it out at a ski resort. It's very warm and very comfortable. I will be promoting it where ever I go. Especially this weekend at Cascade Mountain where its expected to get into the single digits. Thank you again for the 'very responsive' shipping and for this great winter accessory. Thank you," - George B. from Illinois 12/23/09
"Finally …. the wait is over! Having not received my order for the Psolar.BX Balaclava, I ordered the ColdAvenger® Pro and wore it on a 12 km run on this clear, cold morning having a temperature of -34 C and a wind-chill of -47 C. To round out my cold-weather head protection I wore a hat and aviator-style winter goggles. The product appears simple in its construction and to be good quality. The wrap around enclosure at the back of the neck and head has a generous Velcro closure that allows the wearer to adjust it to fit comfortably. Everyone’s face is unique in shape and the one-size-fits-all ventilation cup won’t fit everyone the same. [Overall] I found the ColdAvenger® Pro comfortable to wear.... It did keep my face warm and spared me the embarrassment of slurring my words through numb lips. Keeping in mind that I didn’t attempt to adjust the ventilation or the fit of the mask during my run, the balance seemed to tip in the direction of excess moisture as evidenced by the thick 1.5 inch icicle that formed at the base of the ventilation cup. However, it didn’t seem to impair my breathing or the overall function of the mask.... Talus accepted a tall challenge to create a functional, effective product that will work for the majority of people engaging in different activities. It’s an effective running mask in the extreme cold and, having scoured the Internet for similar products, I’d say it’s likely the best product available."
"Just wanted to point out how happy I am with the purchase of the ColdAvenger® Pro. At first when I received the product, I was turned off on how simplistic the product was. I thought man I could make this myself. However when I actually got to use this while snowboarding, I was amazed on how it really worked. I was up at the peak of the lift, when high winds started to blow with heavy ice rain. Having full coverage with my goggles on, I was impervious to the elements. Having no fog impeding your vision was a welcome feature. Great product guys." - Eugene L. from New York 2/23/210
"Thank you for making amazing products. I am an avid outdoorsman and I swear by your product. I am grateful.... I just purchased my first ColdAvenger® Pro, and it is amazing! The warm, but cool, fresh air with every breath - I love it!" - Eric R. 2/23/10
"I've been using my ColdAvenger® Classic during our recent cold snap up here in Fairbanks, Alaska. I've been skiing when it is -30°F and -40°F and today we raced at -20°F! I previously used a Psolar and I find the ColdAvenger® Classic to be much easier to breathe through when exercising and with the foam piece on, my eye area doesn't ice up either. Great Product and performs as advertised!" - Tom D. from Fairbanks, Alaska 1/15/10
"Last weekend my 14 year old son and I gave the Talus mask a real world test at Whitefish Mountain Resort (formerly Big Mountain). At first we were skeptical and at the lower elevations it really wasn't that cold so we left the ColdAvenger® masks in the car. We were kidding each other that we looked like Darth Vader. We then took a ride on the lift up to the top of the mountain. There was a blizzard going on and white out conditions. We put on our normal ski masks and proceeded down the mountain. Halfway down we stopped after our goggles had fogged up and our masks had become frozen. We agreed to give the new masks a real try and skied down the mountain to get the Talus mask. We put them on and headed back up to the top of the mountain. My son and I then spent the rest of the day on the top of the mountain skiing the backside. It only took one run and we were blown away! The ColdAvenger® masks worked absolutely great. It lived up to all of your promises on the web-site and packaging. We didn't fog up nor ice up the rest of the day. It was easy to talk to each other and I didn't come home with my usual chapped lips. Congratulations on a great product! We no longer kid each other and it has now become a necessary part of our ski gear."
"I gave the ColdAvenger® mask the ultimate test this morning. It was minus 23°F and my breathing was excellent as long as I kept running and kept my body temperature up. No problem whatsoever with air temperature. If it can protect you at 23°F below zero, it is a winner!"
"Great product! Both my boys and I love the ColdAvenger®; it came in handy during 20-30o below zero temps with wind chill over the holidays here in Colorado. We were able to ski in comfort with your mask. I could have sold a whole truck load here over the holidays. Everyone wanted one." – Jeff C. from Colorado 11/25/09

– Jim McLaughlin, M.D., Emergency Medicine 1/20/09 "The ColdAvenger® is wonderfully engineered. When skiing uphill or on long traverses I did not need to remove the mask to get more air. The air felt humidified and I was less thirsty at the end of my day on the mountain. I also skied faster because I felt no cold blast of air in my face." – Jim McGeorge, M.D., Orthopedics and Sports Medicine 1/19/09
