"I climb because it is my passion. I climb for the sense of beauty and stillness that you experience as you watch the sunrise on your way to the summit. It is one of the few places to observe the curvature of the Earth while standing on its surface. Climbing is the ultimate in goal achievement for me. Each step you take towards the summit puts you closer to your goal. When you reach the goal you realize that the next goal is to get down and it is immediate. I climb because it requires you to focus on the basics of life; food, warmth, shelter, and water. Those are the keys to life everywhere and those needs are in there purist form while climbing. I believe that the definition of Alpinism is the ability to help yourself and be prepared to help others in any situation on the mountain. Climb Hard, Climb High, Come Home!"Chris Klinke proves that it is never too late to start climbing. He had a goal of climbing Mt. Everest since the age of 12. But like most people, life in got in the way of his goals and he waited until he was 35 years old to start following his passion full time. Chris Klinke gets enjoyment from climbing and sharing the dream that each person has their own mountain that they can climb.
