Donna Vano

Donna Vano, 56, is a legend in the snowboard and skateboard industry- an action sports veteran in every sense of the word. For 16 years Donna has competed in Superpipe, Slopestyle, Boardercross, Slalom and Giant Slalom.

Donna Vano retired from mogul skiing in 1993 and turned to snowboarding. Donna has been a competitor in the Ticket To Ride (TTR) Burton Global Open in the Superpipe since 2005. Placing in the top 10 at the “Queen of the Mountain, you’d never know she’s 30 years older than most of her competition.

Donna currently holds three Guinness World Records as the Oldest Inline Vert Skater in the World, the Most Gold Medals in the USASA in all 5 disciplines, and the Oldest Female Amateur Snowboarder Competing in Pro Tours in the Superpipe. She also runs the South Tahoe Snowboard Series USASA Nationals, which was the top for 8 years in a row and has been top in the series for 12 years.

When Donna is not competing, you can find her at home, skating on the 11-foot ramp in her backyard or tending to her garden and her five pets. Donna also has a passion for creating women’s knit hat and donating the proceeds to women and children with cancer.  In 2008 Donna created the "South Shore Sisterhood", a mentoring program empowering female riders in her South Lake Tahoe community.

Donna is currently working with Talus Outdoor Technologies to create a limited edition ColdAvenger® cold-weather face mask called the ColdAvenger® Slopestyle.
